News of Bing 2.0 Leaks

News of updates to Microsoft’s search engine, Bing (the search engine formerly known as MSN Live Search) has begun to leak out, leading to speculation that Bing 2.0 could be launched this coming autumn, or perhaps sooner still, with some predictions putting it in the next week.

If there’s one thing Twitter manages to do it’s accelerate the rate at which leaked information makes its way around the globe. If that’s what it means to be “the pulse of the planet” then Twitter is on target. According to the All About Microsoft blog, the latest news to have leaked via Twitter is that of Bing’s impending update to Bing 2.0.

Of course, the only trouble with Twitter is the fact that its 140 character limit tends to mean details get left behind in favour of getting across only the salient points. In this case, the really important facts seem to be that Bing 2.0 is coming very soon indeed.

The only indicator so far of what any new features might include is a tweet that simply reads, “Bing 2.0 terrific !! watch out guys ! bing + silverlight in maps = amazing !! goodbye google.” While we’re hesitant to believe this is a “goodbye google” moment, but it’s still intriguing.
