Put on a Happy Face – Weekend’s Nearly Here

Hopefully by now everyone is working themselves into that Friday feeling; it can be a bit hard before lunch, but now that the afternoon is well and truly underway it’s hard for us to stop thinking about the fact that the weekend is almost here.

If nothing else does it for you, then ramming two spacecraft into the surface of the moon at speeds in excess of seven times the speed of sounds is among the best ways we’ve seen to kickstart the weekend, fair play NASA, have to give them credit for that.

It’s strange to see Jackie Chan advertising Kapersky 2010, but I guess on some levels it’s a perfect fit and by “on some levels” I do mean “when it comes to fantastic advertising. I’m also intrigued by Kapersky’s idea of “the Cyberworld,” it seems like a pretty hip place 🙂

On the subject of NASA’s bid to ram things into the moon at breakneck speeds, this video effectively sums up the mood people were left with after they watched the impact… which is to say, we the audience felt very much as we’d imagine the NASA tech left hanging for a high-five felt.

After all that silliness, we’re happy to say we’re up for two Irish Web Awards tomorrow night (October 10th) and I think I speak for all of us when I say that the mood here is best summarised as “cautiously optimistic” but also fairly well characterised as “not getting our hopes up” 😉 Anyway, all joking aside we’ll be very happy just to be out there, so to those of you who’ll be there, we look forward to seeing you. You’ll know me because I’ll be the one with the foppish hair who looks confused and lost, and the boss will be the 6’7” guy nearby wandering around with an apparent sense of purpose…

Turns out when you hit the level cap there's nowhere else to go

Alright guys, that’s it from us on the blog this week. I hope you all have an excellent time this weekend. I’m sure I’ll find the time to write a post if we win anything tomorrow night, but if we don’t I’ll probably just write it up on the sky gossamer teardrops for all the world to see 😉

Have fun.
